H&H Alaskan Outfitters and Nomad Adventures will be working together to bring our clients the hunt of a lifetime on the Seward Peninsula. This is one of the most unique moose hunting opportunities in North America. There are no thick forests or alder choked swamps, rather wide-open rolling tundra. This open vastness allows for glassing for miles and miles. It is not uncommon to spot one of these big antlered bull moose from over 10 miles away.
Our moose hunts are by far one of the most consistently successful hunts in all of Alaska. We use a fleet of six 8-wheel Argos while we search for a legal bull moose. A legal bull moose in this area is 50” wide or at least 4 brow tines on one side. All of our Argos have enclosed cabs and help protect hunters from the rain and wind. Final stalks can range from a mile to as little as 100 yards.
This hunt boasts an impressive harvest record! Over the last decade we have taken over 100 moose clients with a success record of 97%. Our hunts are shorter at 7 days, as it doesn’t take 10 days to harvest a big mature bull. The bull moose we take are between 51”-70”, with approximately 35% being over 60”. Please look at the photo album for reference. We currently limit our moose hunters to 8-9 individuals in the two-week season. Hunters have a 100% opportunity and will see several bulls on a 7-day hunt.
This hunt can be customized into an Alaskan Safari, as grizzly bear, caribou, wolf, and wolverine may be added for a trophy fee. The ability to tag multiple species on this hunt is very common. You could be in search of moose one minute and the next off on a grizzly stalk. Each day is exciting as you never know what you may come across riding shotgun from an Argo ATV.
After a 40-minute plane ride from Nome, your hunt will start at Nomad’s remote base camp, located along the Continental Divide. The camp consists of a cook shack, maintenance shop for the Argos, as well as three bunk cabins. The majority of moose hunting takes place from various spike camps throughout the Seward Peninsula. These spike camps increase the odds for success. For safety reasons, all hunts are conducted in parties of two Argos. Therefore, all hunts are 2 hunters per guide with another driver or packer in the hunting party.
The hunter is responsible for purchasing their hunting license and moose tag, as well as lodging and meals while in Nome, AK.
