After a 40-minute plane ride from Nome, your hunt will start at Nomad’s remote base camp, located along the Continental Divide. The camp consists of a cook shack, maintenance shop for the Argos, as well as three bunk cabins. The majority of caribou hunting takes place from various spike camps throughout the Seward Peninsula. These spike camps increase the odds for success. Our caribou hunts are by far one of the most consistently successful hunts in all of Alaska. We use a fleet of six 8-wheel Argos while we search for a bull caribou. All of our Argos have enclosed cabs and help protect hunters from the rain and wind. Final stalks can range from a mile to as little as 100 yards. For safety reasons, all hunts are conducted in parties of two Argos. Therefore, all hunts are 2 hunters per guide with another driver or packer in the hunting party.
The hunter is responsible for purchasing their hunting license and caribou tag, as well as lodging and meals while in Nome, AK.
We take 2-4 Barren Ground caribou hunters annually. With 100% success rate over the last decade. Our hunters have a 100% opportunity and will see caribou on their hunt.
